Contacting the Cairn Resilience Group - Phone 07702 242100:
The Community Resilience Plan:
If
there is a serious emargency the correct action is to dial 999 to get
the right kind of professional assistance, as soon as possible. But who
do we call to arrange the right kind of ongoing follow up help to suit
the circumstances prevailing. Thats why we have a 'resilience plan'.
Basically
it's a list of people and agencies that can quickly move in
to help allieviate the given emegency circumstances. For emergency
contingencies we have put together a plan for Cairnryan and logged it
with D&G council who, for GDPR purposes, keep the information on an
access restricted secure database. Of course that information is
routinely available to our Group resilience coordinator staff (including participating Cairnryan Ferry Port Management) and
routinely to relevant D&G ward officers.
Additionally,
we have been added to a contact list by D&G Council to ensure that
we receive appropriate information/notifications (eg weather warnings
etc). We have been advised that some of that information may be in the
form of D&G's own 'SitReps' (situation reports) during their
communications with our Group. It has been stressed by the D&G team
that such ongoing situation reports cannot (and will not) be shared out
to the community at large by our group on social media - in simple
terms (and correctly) it would be for D&G to decide on their own
'media press releases'. In an emergency situation we, the Plan
Coordinators, would of course provide relevant information to the
community as to our own Group responses.
It's impossible to know or second guess what
might be needed in any emergency circumstance - but we can make an
effort to plan for incidents. For example cottage flooding coming from
water drainage coming off the hill
behind cottages at the Cairn end of Cairnryan, could happen, and the
best idea is to try and plan
for it.
We
have undertaken to help
update the plan as circumstances and resilience plans dictate. So we
can't list the plan here on this website because it would name folk
involved (GDPR regs), but the plan is there ready and waiting. Perhaps
it helps to be aware that approachs have been made to certain companies
with fairly substantial resources that we would seek assistance from -
in genuine emergency situations. Our Group has taken on appropriat
liability insurance in relation to our activities.
We also have 'home resilience plan' ideas, which may be useful to
individual householders. We distribute leaflets with these ideas - click HERE to see the on-screen leaflet.
If
you think you can assist in any way with this planning, please do
not hesitage in making contact.
